I just thought it was kind of odd to insert an opinion on specific situations (such as mine and my ex-girlfriend's, for example - not calling you out, just providing a scenario) that may or may not be taken out of context given the circumstances of the individual (such as a breakup or other life-altering event that modify one's situation) and the headfirst diving into an allegation surrounding the action.

Nah, I hear ya. In a place like OT, we get to know people a certain amount and then we fill in the blanks. By virtue of the format, there are lots of blanks. When presented with real life info that contradicts how we have filled those in, there follows a "wait wut" moment. Then, in my case, I feel like I need to verify the info, recalibrate and re-fill some of those blanks.
