20% Dark Smoke Out Head light film
I used a hair drier to wrap and fit the contours of the reflectors and side makers.
This company offers free samples on line

Yes you have to take off the reflectors to complete this install.
Rear reflectors easily Snap out from the under side of the rear bumper.
The front reflectors are held In By 3M double sided tape.
Your have to remove the 3 fender well screws and gain access to the back side of the reflector. I used a hair drier to heat the 3M tape and at the same time push the reflector from the outside of the reflector in and use a plastic scrapped to dis lodge the reflector from the inside. Easy BUT it's takes patience.
To re install you will need new 3M tape available at any autp parts stores.

For the ones who use alcohol to clean the area before putting on the LCI sidemarkers with the 3M adhesive. Is the alcohol going to burn off the clear coat of the paint?

I am just wondering because i never put alcohol on the car paint before

Hi jparnes1, when you wiped the paint with alcohol, will it strip the clear coat protecting the paint?

If yes, do we really need to use the alcohol to clean?

Thanks for your advice in advance

I wouldnt pour alcohol on the paint and leave it for an hour. However, it wont break down the clear coat unless it is very freshly painted and even then they would have to have made an error in the mixture for the clear coat.

Alcohol is a solvant, but it is very mild.

You will need to use something that will strip off the wax coating and any other dirt, grime or grease otherwise you will have a problem keeping the markers attached to the vehicle.

Hi rking117, so i could just put some alcohol on a microfiber cloth and wipe the area where the adhesive will go on? and wait for an hour to dry before putting the LCI side marker?

Hey guys, my LCI package came in today in big box. It seems like the right side is in a nice long little box packaged in the big box, but the left side is in a FedEx bag only. Initially I thought the left side was used because it didn't have the same long fitted box as the right side. Does any one here received their packages like this? I am just wondering if the left side is used and that's why they didn't have the original box.

Thank you all for helping with the LCI side marker upgrade. They came today, and I cleaned the adhesive area before putting them. So glad that BMW designed in a way where we can upgrade. So much more classier or high end looking comparing to the white plastic!

So glad to have this Z4 forum, everytime I am here with questions, I always get help from our community.

Can't recommend Tomkinson enough! Shipped out immediately and received the next morning! (Indiana -> Ohio)

Quite easy installation. Push I'm stepped tabs gently with screwdriver in fender while wiggle out old indicator with other hand. Then, I dremeled the tabs off the new indicators so they will retrofit using just the 3M adhesive provided on new indicators. Clean up fender area, partially peel 3M tape, pop in large area while holding back extended part, then peel carefully and pressure. The one thing I noticed is to get it aligned just right there's a black tab on the large part that should be aligned first and everything falls into place. Here's a few pics. Thanks all.

Hi all,

I just got my side light parts but having a problem to ask. How do you do with the part sticking out at the end? Do you have it cut or make a hole in your Z4?

Thanks

They are easily wrapped or painted. The light module removes easily. I wrapped my in brushed Titanium as I didn't care for the shiny chrome look. See previous posts in this thread for various options and their outcome.

I dremeled the tabs off and grinded to be flush. Didn't want to risk breaking them.
