Well those silly bastards in DC have done it!
It's on thing to be bored enough at work that you can lead a telecom with industry people and still post on an internet forum but it's another when you do that and they cut your pay by 20% because they are having "inter personal issues".

So....anyone know any company in Northern NJ/NYC looking for an EMBA Mechanical engineer with oh…10 years of experience, Security clearance and who is a Six Sigma Black Belt that looks absolutely sexy on any day ending in Y? Can’t take anything lower than $110k…hey looking this trashy costs good money!

Hey they are getting hit too! It's across the board, 20% pay cut.
Only difference is that they still live at home with mom, still sleep in the bunk bed, mom makes them lunch and the last time they saw vagina was at birth.

You are from Germany? Oh yeah well see it's different for you guys over there.
One of the only places where I have been where the engineers were professional and just amazing with respect to not only their ability to innovate but also to keep the customer in mind and be able to communicate that innovative idea in a manner that all could understand it up the chain of management! Sadly not all nations are Germany? Came close once I hear!

Dyson....do you know how amazing a company they are to work for?
They are right up there with Irobot!

Nope, and you've tried bringing this up before. I'm a U.S. Marine stationed in Germany. I can do nothing but roll my eyes at how you are so devastated by a 20% pay cut and still demand a job that pays no less than 110k when you talk in such a specific way about your co-workers.

Oh yeah shucks...it's going to hit you guys as well....not your pay directly but the overall system will take a 20% cut. That is going to suck especially when it comes to the VA hospitals and other government run facilities. Not even the GiBill is safe from what I hear....

I think some contractors are exempt but I know of some who will be loosing their jobs...which just sucks.

Makes you wonder what these nutters were thinking.

As for the pay, yeah I'm a GS-13 step 5. Been in the industry for 10 years so it would be a little less than what I make now.

But either way i hope you are not loosing your job or getting a pay cut and you are well and have some protection for this insanity of austerity.


Never the less i wonder what this will do to the market? Right now i'm putting aside about 10% into my IRA. I know by the end of the month if this happens I will be down to 0% so that i can offset my loss of income. And I know many who are doing the same. So think about it, 800k people all pulling out of the market at the same time? And another 800k contractors who may also do the same?
