Z4 Mysterious compartment!!
Hi all,
I have a 2011 Z4 with M Package. Above the small storage compartment behind and between the seats there is a plastic cover that when removed looks like an additional speaker could be fitted there. I looked in the BMW site and other BMW accessories sites but couldn't find it mentioned anywhere for anything. Any idea what it could be used for? Thanks in advance. |

could be, but how can I know for sure?
The other day I had my top down and got to 220 km/h and this cover just flew out. lucky it hit the dashboard and fell on my lap. I'm glad it didn't fall out of the car. |

The upper middle section of the back wall behind the seats has a speaker in it when ordered with the upgraded stereo and the lower section is where the through load door/bag is when that option is included.

That cover blew off on me over the summer under top down driving. When I had a chance, I brought in the car for service. They replaced it under warranty with no hassle. Also got me my cupholder that wasn't included when I picked up my car during purchase.
But yeah I'm guessing its for the upgraded audio |
