You didn't talk me out of it so I did it!

I am happy to say that I will be picking up my new (used) 2009 z4 3.5 this Thursday. I got the deal I wanted on a white with tan leather z4! The car has only 4,500 miles and is CPO until 12/23/15 (must have been someone's christmas present). The car has all the goodies including DCT, premium package, sport package, satillite radio, HD radio, heated seats, sport steering wheel, the dreaded 19 inch 296 wheels, comfort access and navigation. It seems like a very lush purchase but I thought it was a good deal on a car that is not even 2 years old yet. Funny the car reminds me of a very grown up version of my all time favotite car, my Honda Del Sol (don't laugh, top off I loved that car). In terms of the new Z4, my reservations include the fact that the fuel pump has not failed and the wheels. Thrilled though I just better not have the fuel pump fail on my ride home which is just over 200 miles! I will be calling the selling dealer to rescue me. Anything else I should ask about the car.

Congrats!

Check if that car is subject to the pump recall, and if it has been performed.

The high pressure fuel pump has not failed yet. I am a bit nervous about this. Were some, but not all, 2009s recalled? I am confused about this. It seems they are all covered by an extended warranty on the fuel pump but were some cars actually recalled even if they were not experiencing immediate problems? The car is still very new with 4,500 miles so the pump probably has not had time to fail.

Scratch the last post, the dealer pulled the service records on the car, the pump has been replaced and all updates have been done!

I actually drove from SC to Atlanta tonight (Wednesday). I pick up the car in Atlanta on Thursday. What a nightmare to drive here. I don't know how people do big city driving. I hope to be on the road and on my way home in the car before high traffic kicks in. I really don't want to be in a ton of traffic (which I am not used to), in my new car. I think I am going to love it

Made it back home with my new z4. I thouroughly enjoyed the drive. The car is sexy, fun and powerful for sure. I even gave it it's first bath when I got back since I picked up alot of bugs on the drive home. I was pleasantly suprised that I got 27 mph on the drive back which was highway driving. I need to read all the manuals. The I-drive system and navigation was driving me crazy because I was not familiar with it. I could not exit navigation and it just kept talking to me!

Click the little speaker icon in the upper left of the Nav display to turn off voice instructions. I turn on split-screen (options button while on any screen) and have the right screen show "arrow display" to see the next turn, etc and not have to listen to her.
Use the buttons around the controller to get to various screens, but regardless of the screen, navigation is still working in the background along with the voice instructions if on.

PS: Congrats on the new Z4. Still loving mine after 2+ years.
