Fob Replacement

what's the best way to get a replacement key / fob? Is there a cheaper / reliable alternative to dealer?

Not really. From everything I've read (on multiple forums) and what I've experienced (tried buying one on ebay, but then finding someone to cut the key, then pay to have it programmed), the stealer is really your only decent option.

You might hunt for someone who discounts BMW parts, but you'll most likely have to show up in person, with ID and title, to get them to order it. I was at my local dealer yesterday and someone was picking up a key... $330, he kept muttering over and over. Plus, some will charge you to program it.
