BMW technology severely lacking

So my 2014 z4 with upgraded HiFi sound has the same technology as my 2003 z4. Did BMW seriously sell me a 2014 car that can't play bluetooth audio? Did they seriously sell me a car that can't play audio from a USB connected iPhone or Android phone? This is more than embarrassing.

Please tell me I am just missing something and that this functionality exist on my 2014 with UPGRADED sound system.

My 2016 model supports Bluetooth audio and two phones connected simultaneously. One as primary (phone book, can make and receive calls, text messages) and the second is incoming calls only.

It can play music via USB but if you have the BMW Connected app, it also allows you to play ,and control it through iDrive, Amazon Prime Music, Stitcher, and iHeart through you phone.

I think I was able to at least play audio through USB with my 2011 E89

That's odd, I'm going to have BMW take a look and see why this radio is so limited and sounds like garbage. I already know something is messed up because the system volume is too loud (gong, voice recognition, tele calls, etc.) so it may need a new Radio/TCU unit or programming. I was just dumbfounded that my radio couldn't do Bluetooth audio.

My Z4 is 3 years older than yours and it plays bluetooth audio and connects to my phone just fine. I also loaded up like a thousand songs onto a USB stick and play it through the USB port, so no problems there. So yea, you might wanna get your system checked out...

Do you have navigation or not? Just curious ...

If the dealership you work with has a BMW Genius, start with them first. The CA don't always know all the features of the cars.

I do not have nav, I have the professional radio. I'm at BMW now getting the radio fixed, and I'll see if I can get a genius here go over the options and how to use the radio.
Thanks for the replies.
