2 Questions: Extended warranty on Coolant Thermostat; Stubby Antenna

Question 1: I received a letter about the warranty on coolant thermostat extended to 10 years/ 120,000 miles. Anyone also get one? I doubt I have that problem but is the knob where you set it to cold and it blows mild to hot and vice versa?

Question 2: Which one would you recommend for the stubby antenna from ebay? Are they all relatively equal in quality? https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...tenna&_sacat=0

Additional question: Where can I find open front bumper side grids (like the center grid)?

The "coolant thermostat" lives inside the engine and regulates engine temperature by adjusting the flow of...(wait for it, wait for it!) ...coolant.

I'm not very smart with cars.

No worries. There are no stupid questions.

Not sure I understand this sentence. Are you talking about your air conditioning and heating controls inside the car? Are you have a problem with heating or cooling?

I don't believe these actually do anything. They are inexpensive. Buy one and try it out.

For the stubby antenna, I recommend the CITROEN\PEUGEOT antenna part#: 6561n3

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Peugeot-206-...IAAOSw3ydVgZqH

Looks factory and seems to have about the same reception.

I know, not exactly your question, but if BMW still sells them, get the stubby antenna from BMW. Yes, more expensive, but I had issues with one or two others (just loose, nothing major, and very cheap so no big loss, but a hassle). I have to say I did not try the Peugeot one, so that may be perfectly ok to use also.

Oh, and btw, some report poorer AM reception with the stubby antenna - if that matters to you / in the area you live in.
