Rear light cluster gaskets

Hi All - I know this subject has probably been done to death but…

I’ve got x2 brand new rear light clusters for my 2013 e89 to fit.

I’m a bit thrown by the 1st picture below which shows another gasket as a separate part which didn’t come with the cluster units.

I can’t see much online about whether this gasket is needed/already on the car/already part of the cluster/should be replaced along with new clusters??

Anyone got any idea?

Covered on the ‘other’ forum…that looks like the gasket that is used between the outside part of the light that holds the bulbs and the main body..
