Here is my baby, just arrived...

just signed up to the forum, was following all of you guys while waiting for it to arrive. Thanks to all of you for your passion for this car, I've pulled out great ideas like Breyton Race GTS wheels (got its first pavement damage by the way) where I have seen it first time here on this forum, short antenna etc.

I have waited quite a long time to get the Kansas Red with the Deep Sea Blue. I have looked at the forum discussions earlier, some like it some dont but I used to own a Dakkar Yellow Z3 Exclusive edition, bought the car right on spot back then just for the black with yellow piping seats.

short antenna is in today
some carbon fiber, not excessive but just to the point
wind deflector on the way
M custom steering wheel
m door slides, m footrest
changed the black kidneys grill to titanium to match the alloys
inserted lower grey plastics, left and right, below the grill. Similar to official Z4 launch car

Finally here it is Z4 2012 2.0 sdrive...

Dude, PLEASE remove the embarrassing carbon-foil

Yeah, i know it is "real" carbon, but cut out (quite bad) and sticked on even areas. If you like carbon there is a way without raping the Z4

Congrats on the car. But what is with all the M trim but no body kit? And that shifter is OEM?

Maybe the owner thinks it is "cool" with all the fake emblems combined with a small engine (but it isn't).

I mean, none of us have a real M e89, but I think it would be more tasteful to stick with the m sport package and the balance of m trim that bmw has designed for the e89. But I do agree a 35i or 35is would be more deserving of those accents. Just my opinion.

Sorry, I dont live in Germany nor in US. I would love to see your "cool" comments if you were to pay 100% tax and pay well over 100K USD for a car that is costing you less than half of that amount. Lets change shirts and see, shall we?

Then I would take your comments seriously and logical about a smaller engine vs 3.5, 3.0 and even 2.3

Coming back to fake emblems, I dont think BMW offers fake emblems globally so it should be same in your country as well. Go to a dealer and ask for M options available for e89 and they will offer it for you, geniune M parts that you can place order as I dont think e89 M does not exsist but some cosmetics are available for this car for a reason.

Guess BMW thinks differently about the M badge being a cheap sticker, M standing for Modified whether it is the engine, suspension or simply cosmetics and officially offering these to owners.

Last, I think it is very cool. Smaller engine? with the turbo engine it is more than enough for this country with the realities I live in.

Be little open minded, and remember "m" cheap batch stands for "modified" and that are genuine, sold for a reason by BMW.

Laz, thanks for a logical feedback and opinion. Yes none of us have real M 89 because it does not exsist (I guess Maxpower has the only one by the way, a real M E89 not a fake one)

At first I did think about 35i,35is but later decided on the 2.0 which I found it "enough" for the country I live in. Enouh as far as power and as far money I will spend. I think we should be appricated more considering we pay a fortune on these cars vs. other countries which tax is exteremly high where you pay almost another car price on top.

I have waited almost 6 months for this car just to get a kansas red interior as here they are shipped pre packed/designed and you do not have any option other than to custom order and wait 6 months.

I think all Z4's deserve those accents if there is no m engine option, at least the cosmetics which modify's the car a bit especially interior where you get to spend time enjoying the car.

Max,

Since you are the expert, are Breyton Race GTS alloys "cool" with a small engine? If not I will go for fake but original BMW wheels with the "M" badge that when you ask from a BMW dealer they give the same comments like you do, i.e. smaller engine N/A, wheels carrying fake m badge and they can only place an order for a real M Z4 E89 that is planned to be out in 2016...

That is not the point. I dont like the "showing off" while there is nothing behind. I am more a fan of the "wolf in sheep's clothing". In this point germans are maybe a bit conservative (boring), but it is always funny to see someone who completely underestimated the car.

I don't think the model was what we were reacting to. It was more the choice in mods. Is Turkey Europe now?

To each his own. Welcome to the forums and congrats on the Z. People sometime forget that we are all here for the same thing. BMW. Ignore all the downers on here, they just have nothing better to do and/or simply don't have to read the thread.

Yes taxes suck here too but its not an excuse to put M badges/stickers all over the car. Its like an ///M overkill in the car. But honestly, for those who choose the 2.0, 2.3 2.5 or whatever they come in now are simply going for looks and not performance. If you are that kind of person, then the carbon fiber and M stickers makes more sense to these buyers. At their price, they could have gone with something much more powerful but in a different styled car and brand but they chose to go with pure styling with the smallest available engine.

Here in HK, I see a a lot of 320, 323, 525 or whatever slapped with an M badges in the rear while real M3, M5 sometimes even remove the badge to look steathly. Some like to show off, some like to hide it. Different strokes for different folks.

The symbol of the ///M for some of us, holds a deep meaning only true ///M cars should be badged with. Even as a follow BMW owner, it boils our blood to see the M being misused or abused even on non-M cars. IMO, even our 35i or 35is is not worth of badging any M because we're simply not produced that way. People with the M1 or M3 will quickly tell you why the 35i or 35is Z4 doesn't handle anything like an M car. If it was that simple, BMW would make a MZ4 instead of making that 118 M edition in M blue gimmicky pile of crap.
