Practical weekend toy

I'm looking for a practical weekend toy/stuff hauler to complement my daily driver 135i. Must have four doors and seat five. It's come down to a CPO Cadillac CTS-V Wagon or a new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8.

Thoughts?

Why does it have to be that way? 90% of my driving is to and from work during the week, when I'm alone in the car.

Get a regular truck.

There is nothing practical about a high performance car/truck....

If you really want a wagon, then how about an E61 M5?

It's obvious that you're a BMW noob because the E61 M5 was never brought to the US.

Oh forgive me, great and knowledgeable BMW lore master

... and there are plenty of non-M E61's tourings around ...

I'm not a fan of the CTS-V coupe at all, but there is something about the looks of the CTS-V wagon that I love. It has a sleek and aggressive look, yet still somewhat of a sleeper quality about it.

well i mean if you had an M5, SRT Jeep or V wagon, you could probably drive that everyday. without needing to pay for insurance, maintenance, etc for 2 different cars. i think thats kind of the point of the SRT Jeep & V wagon -- something you can have fun with over the weekend and be able to drive to and from work every day as well.

not attacking your train of thought or anything. just trying to give some ideas. i think a V wagon would be perfect as a dual duty daily/weekend canyon carver/boulevard cruiser/occasional track use.

SRT8 is completely unpractical, but a blast.

Saw a V wagon with a blower on it the other week at Cars and Coffee. What a beast.
My son is a tech at A Hyundai dealer that also sells Jeep, Dodge Chrylser products, they see a lot of SRT8 Cherokees for a myriad of nagging issues but are badass when they are right.
