I think for that you remove the sun visor and the panel pulls free.
start near the top, work your way down then pull the smaller area out from the windshield at the bottom. |

I'm fairly certain that trim piece goes over the trim that the sun visors are connected to. If so you just pull it off starting at the top. A plastic trim tool can help you pull it out enough to get your fingers in there. If the sun visor trim piece is over it you just unscrew the torx screws holding the visors in place and it comes off.

Yes, I saw those. It is just odd they do not show those removed in the photo where the trim in question is being removed.
