need help

hello, i just got my new z4, and i found a problem is, everytime when my top down or up finished, my windows will not going up automatically. Because before i have driven an 650 conv, everytime top down or up finished, the windows will going up automatically, so i want to know is that everyone like me ，the windows dont go up or just my car have issues, i see my car was produced at 2014/06, so maybe battery die before i get the car? and windows need reset? thanks everyone.

your windows only go down automatically when dropping the top, not up when closing the top

If your windows are up when you drop the top then your windows should go up when you are closing the top. However I did install the smart top on mines so maybe I reprogrammed it to do that.

No, the windows do not roll up automatically by default. I don't remember if this can be programmed but I know the standard programming is down and only down. I think BMW took a step back on our cars since i know my E85 also rolled them up if you held the button down but it took a while.

Correct, both my E85s put the windows up after the top closed, whether using the button inside the car or the by-the-key-in-the-door method.

Struck me as odd that the E89 didn't close the windows after the top, but I think it has something to do w/ the windows being split vs. the E85 where it was 1 solid window. At any hoot, the E89 does not do it by default.

FYI, 4er vert has windows up too when using the close top button

must be F platform tech

In my car, -09 35i all the windows goes up after top down if I continue to hold the ”top down” button a few sec. They also go up after top up if I hold the button a few sec.

What? I'm going to have to check this out.
Edit: checked it out and my car does not do what you described. First I've heard of it. Anyone else able to close the windows as ojo describes?

i keep hold the button but windows still not go up.

yup, my 09 is... and it is able to close the roof and windows with the key in door lock method as well.

Also in my 2010 is. Works same way as my old E85.
