Just picked up my 35is
Probably think I am crazy for going from the M3 (sold it to one of my partners) to this, but have had the last 3 generations of M3 and while this last one is a fantastic car, I was missing the fun of a convertible. ( had a 2000 Z3 M roadster). Did not like the last gen Z4, but love the E89 and the new 35is was right up my alley. Wish it was a true "M" but darn close. Pricey for sure, and maybe only a little better than a 35i w/ M sport, but I figured what the hell.
Breaking it in but so far the fun quotient is what I expected and I believe will be more once I pass the break in. Have driven the M3 DCT on the track (mine was a 6 sp) and have always been a manuel guy, but I am sold on DCT after only 150 miles! My friends at the performance center love it and I doubt I will ever go back. I was pretty good with heel and toe, but I am Schumacher with this thing! The sounds with the top down are so good I don't even want the radio on. Sure it is not razor sharpe like the M3, and no it is not a Boxster S, but unless you are on the track this is more than you will ever really need in real world driving. Can't wait to hit the overboost!! Motor trend has a pretty good write up online, but I am still waiting for some performance numbers. Don't know what the real 0-60 is going to be, but I bet it is quicker than BMW says. Only thing I might change is the run flat tires. Anyway, just my 2 cents worth. Will get some pics and post them. Mine is Melb Red w/ black leather. |

Awesome,
I had a 2001 Z3 then got a '05 M3 Convertible. Now I have a Zed 35i with Dinan Stage II. We seem to run the same path...... enjoy the car, it's gonna be great.....

Last 3-4 days are the worst.
Skulle vara kul att jämföra dom bredvid varandra någon gång i sommar. |

I translated it on Babelfish:
"Would be fun to compare them side by side sometime this summer" Memphis, you didn't miss anything.
