Bavarian Technic Pro or Enthusiast?

I am about to order an BT cable.

Anyone who have bought the enthusiast kit and wished they bought the pro kit instead?

From BT website:
"The Enthusiast version stores the vehicle identification number of the car it is attached to into the hardware. This limits the use of the tool to three(3) cars.
The Enthusiast version cannot be programmatically upgraded to professional versions. (Upgrades available through a return only.)
The Enthusiast version does not have access to Coding or Command Console features.
May not have access to some activations that should only be used by professionals.
Workshop information is not available in the Enthusiast version."

Will i ever need access to Coding or Command Console as a normal user?

I think this cable is a great way to learn more about my car but the price diff is almost 450 USD.

I don't think so, but i'm not sure. If it can it have to be the Pro-version and i guess you need to know some kind of codes to change different settings. I am sure there is no activate/deactivate button.

Haven't used that particular cable, but have used others for various makes/models. The key is your mechanical ability/knowledge. My guess is that the pro version is going to give you more technical capability than you will need. Suggest that you repost your question on the e85/e86 Z4 forum.

Here

or

The first one has more activity but the 2nd one is a DIY forum. Failing getting responses in those two locations maybe the m3 forum.
