Wind Deflector Mod
So I followed Z4@Phuket's lead and replaced the OEM mesh in the wind deflector with tempered glass. Prior to reassembly, I sandblasted the Z4 logo onto the glass. What do you think? I'm kind of lovin' it.
I will say, however, that the necessary trimming of the plastic frame and reassembly wasn't easy. I'll see how well it holds up. If I had to do it again, it would have been much easier to buy the glass wind deflector from UR-Windschott and sandblast the logo on that.

Doc, thanks for the compliment, but I wouldn't look forward to doing this again. I've done easier things.

Nice job, Jparnes!
As I told you , this is my third mod version, so this is not easy Only the shaving the frame part, took me a few hours and a mess around the house from debris. If you see my picture attatched, I use a rubber strip to seal the frame instead of silicone which create uneven surface. I did with the silicone and did not like it. Same to me that I would not do this again if someone ask to do it Congratulation

Thanks for y our comments! I was looking for that rubber strip but couldn't find it in any store. I used black silicone and after it set, I cut it back with a razor blade so I had a nice, clean finished edge. My only concern is with how well the glass will be held in place. I had it cut with an extra 2mm as you suggested. But what I didn't realize is that as you trim the plastic frame the opening gets wider because profile flares out rather than being square. The glass still overlaps the frame but just barely in some areas. If I did it again I'd cut the glass with an extra 4mm.

I use my second project plexiglass as a template for the glass.
The rubber strip seals perfectly without any noise while driving (no silicone was used) What is your next mod?

That's it for now. I put on a stubby antenna, pedal covers and Alpine HID angel eyes. I'm happy at this point.
