Cadillac Escala Concept

This was unveiled last night, is supposed to represent the new design direction of Cadillac. Thoughts?

Starting to look a little too much like a Lincoln, IMHO ... with a little A7 and 7 Series tossed in ...

... and that interior is hideous. It reminds me of a Gen 3 Toyota Avalon with bench seats, and how the hell do you keep that tweed/canvas/burlap/whateverthehellthatis clean?

its not terrible, but its like the bastard child of an audi A7, a tesla model S, and a lincoln.

The overall impression I have of the exterior is a pastiche of several other cars; the grill and front end in particular could be any number of makes. Very little of this design identifies the car as a Cadillac. I'm glad they stepped away from "Art & Science" but not sure this hits the mark.

Like a blend of the A7 and XJS. But more cohesive than the awful Audi.

Interior is superb, like a mature i3.

The CEO of Cadillac used to be over at Audi so I guess its no surprise he just asked the designers to come out with an A7.

I see a little Bentley in the rear pillar area and trunk and I also see a little Chevy Camaro in the front. But it looks good and very coherent.

What in the. It actually looks ok. Looks too similar to the a7, though. Not a fan of the interior parts covered in Walmart made couch fabric.

Finally a Cadillac worth typing off few words on

It looks modern , elegant ,big as you would expect from a Cadillac

They did a good job by getting rid of slanted squinted slimmest stupidest headlamp design that current models have .

No more awkward model names such as XLR, CTS,UTS,XTS,GTS,JTS .I know I made up some of them

Emblem is foul . where is the wreath and colorful logo ? Monochrome logo looks cheap

Simple, Scotchguard followed by covering in clear vinyl like my parents did to one of our couches when I was a kid.

And can Cadillac stretch out their rear lights some more please, like all the way to the door handles, that would be boss...

And is it just me or does the rear light look vaguely like the Atlanta Falcons logo, minus the talon (I know its a stretch)

Liftover height seems a bit high for modern car standards. Bet it will still drive better than a BMW.

...but it's 200 feet long. Will need tugboats to park it. Good for Uber guys though. They can fit 19 people.

Bet it will still drive better than a BMW. __________________ A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."
