If you get stuck with a 320i for a loaner...

...how do you resist the urge to drive it off a cliff or into a wall? Just asking?

Seriously, how can BMW put their emblem on such a car? I'd take a Honda Accord all day long over a 320i for a daily driver.

Agreed.

Luckily the worst I've had was a 528 m sport.....with a 535 and 550 the norm.

Honda Accord is leaps and bounds better than that car.

I might become "that guy".

Ballin' on a budget. Go drive a CLA 250 and you will be asking yourself the same question.

There's a lot of other great cars on the market right now that I would buy before ever even considering a 320i.

Yep - I got stuck with a 320i while they put the rear spoiler on my car. It was... adequate. It's a car. Gets you from A to B. Won't give you a boner while driving though.

Yep, 320 is a joke but do like practicing launch control on them when I get it a loaner.

320 is nothing more then a "me too" car. Heck the entire 1 series and 2 series are pretty much in that category if you ask me.

BMW 125 loaner crew checking in

God that was bad, i normally don't request anything for my loaner and just take whatever they give me but that experience has made me rethink that strategy.

I drove the GLA250 during BMW's Drive for a Cause event recently, it actually drives pretty nice!

Not sure why all the hate towards the 320i. I think the US is just accustomed to having high HP cars, 184hp is not bad if you look at what Europe/Asia is offered.

I like the 320 loaner they gave me without an appointment when one of my belts shredded out of the blue.

If you drive a lot like me then you will really appreciate the loaners especially if they let u have it for a long time.

I had a 320i with the beige sensa-tec, no navi, no comfort access....basically a stripper 320i. It makes sense when you need it for a fleet, but it absolutely makes no sense for consumers to buy the car. I would take a loaded civic or corolla over a stripper 320i. And yes I did cry because it was for a 4 day warranty work because they didn't have the parts.

True ! CLA was THE worse car I ever purchased, with all those BS hype before it came out, I was fooled to be one of first to get the car fully optioned.
Regretted the moment I drove off the lot. sold less than year into it.
Piece of crap coming from Benz IMO.

I usually get a M5 or a 750xi as a loaner.

I got a rear drive sport package 320i loaner (basically jalopnik version) for 3 days while having some work done and I thought it was a hoot to drive. I think alot of you guys are missing the point, it's a very good car in that whole drive a slow car fast vein.

I would rather have a 228i over a 320i as a loaner

The only problem with the 228i was how small it was even for a loaner.Thats a monster engine for a little car.The m235 and m2 would be faster but they are not available as loaners.I don't mind the 528 as a loaner because I don't drive the 5series hard because it is challenged in the handling dept due to its size and weight . I also would not buy an M5/M6/x5M/x6M due to their size and weight.Very nice cars but don't interest me as a platform for the M division.

The last time they tried to give me a 320i I argued with the dealership to give me anything else.

They ended up having a 428i GC M-Sport that I gladly took instead. I had a 320i once and vowed to never drive one again. It was a straight base model though (basically the lease rate special), I'd probably be cool with driving one with a sports package since it'd be nice to just keep an F30 at high RPM's and toss it around, something that usually results in me going significantly over the speed limit in the 335i.

I guess it depends on your expectations.

My friend and I were beating on a loaner, took it to an oval, turned traction off and it drifted better than expected, the back end came out and it held a slide, toss it around a few corners. After parking it and looking at the back, it was a 320i x-drive, we were actually surprised after what we just put it through. Was it earth shattering? no, but imo you couldn't have that much fun in a fwd accord. We had originally thought it was a rwd 328i.

That said, aside from beating it we didn't actually drive it like a normal car, so maybe that is where the let down is.

we have 2 m235 loaners at my dealer 95% of customers hate when they get that as a loaner. They just see a tiny little 2 series and go

At least it's free? Ford absolutely refused to give me a loaner when I was trying to get all of the misaligned panels fixed on my '15 Mustang and I needed a loaner since that was my only car. I usually ask for a 5 series whenever I need a loaner.
