OT Jaguar F-Type 2013

A mix between a Boxster-Cayman and our Z.

3.0 turbo. Very Interesting.

What do you think about?

the C-X16 concept (which it is based on) is fantastic. we'll see how close it is to the concept once the camo comes off

Much better than the previous Jags.... wondering if they are sourcing their headlights from the same source as the Viper SRT - I see a lot of similarity

it is very nice indeed, but i'm a little scare about any Jags reliability. My Z4 have given so many troublefree miles and trips so i'll remain loyal to BMW.

I agree. Jag reputation for reliability is a real issue.

From the pictures, it looks like it's not a hard top?

I do like their pulsating start/stop button they have on some (all?) models. And that they have the "heart beat" theme in their promo teaser video for the F-Type -- kinda neat.

Jag's reputation may have persisted, but they are not plagued by the same quality control issues of the past. Ford got most of that under control in the aughts. I'm looking forward to this car, maybe a replacement for my Z4 after the lease is up. If they stick that sweet V8 in there it's definitely my next car!

Here we are, officially unveiled.

http://www.worldcarfans.com/11209204...led/highphotos

Side view looks very similar to the Z, at least the black one on the right...

Very nice but ugly front bumper, Hartge style... IMO.

The car looks good and has better lines than Lana del Rey. Not sure what Jaguar was thinking on that agreement, Jess Mills would have been a better English rep.

http://www.topspeed.com/cars/jaguar-f-type/ke1224.html

From the article.

The future Jaguar F-Type will be powered by a new 3.0-liter V6 engine that delivers a total of 250 HP in a normally aspirated version and 375 HP in the supercharged R version. Jaguar has also confirmed that the future F-Type will be built as a two-seater convertible and will feature all-aluminum construction. The model will be priced under the current XK, or at about $85,000

I did a marketing thing on it late last year, well a survey behind closed doors. They had a Boxster and a 911 for you to compare against

I must say the internals are electronics gone too far....it's like a cockpit.....but then again that appeals to men I guess.....probably why it has the word cock in it!!!

When they did the original version when it was under Ford Management, they said they were going to build the car, so I actually put a deposit down as I thought it was a beautiful looking car on the lines of the E Type. Sadly they decided not to build it, another Ford mistake, (Ford has been making mistakes for decades since they launched the Sierra). I got my deposit back, but I think the first version was a better looking car, but this one is not short in those stakes!!! As for on road ability will have to wait and see, if it has the XK soft suspension then it will fail miserably!!!! I hope it is not a baby XK!!!!!!

F-type looks amazing. Hopefully it handles very well.

I have a 2012 XJ SC and seems reliable so far (5 months with 2200 miles on it).
