Acceleration

I like the acceleration best when I am pushing the pedal to the resistence point (not kick down) & it sounds great (engine farts) ... when I do a kick down, I just hear the engine go wild noise wise and acceleration doesn't seem to be that much better -- and the car feels a bit uncontrolled.

I know I am not the best driver out there, but what is everybody elses experience / preference? Kick down or just push to that resistence point?

It would help to know what engine and transmission you have.

No kick down with my 6 MT. My launch control is my left foot.

I know! I am sure other think I am a big show off ... I smile like an idiot and accelerate off the line whenever I have the top down. I actually try to hit the red light so I can accelerate from zero at times

Yes, doesn't it.

I find gentle throttle control at about the mid point after a hard start can prolong the flatulence. My record is about 2-3 seconds.

Must annoy the hell out of my neighbours as their 7yo son said to my son the other day: "Your dad's car is too noisy"

A compliment, I am sure... Hope you promptly took him out for some ice cream?

I changed the end pipes on my exhaust and now they make a really nice burble noise clearly not V8 but moving in the direction!!!!! They are stainless steel and one has a bigger diameter than the other, marginally, and a little bigger than stock end pipes, but it seems to have an effect!!!!
