Wanting to eliminate a perceived threat for the benefit of society is considered political. He even let one person live to "spread the message".

Definitely an act of terrorism if what's been reported thus far is true, that he told them that they were taking over the country and that he had to do this and that he let that one person live to spread the message. Those motivations are, indeed, political.

The sad part about our nation is that knowing what he did, by the book, he deserves a fair trial. In the grand scheme of things, what exactly is that going to accomplish? Every year, millions are wasted on bringing KNOWN murderers to court, when in reality, they shouldn't even be given a chance to go in front of a jury.

There is no justification for what he did. He knew exactly what he was doing and why. Once he was caught, he should have been put on an electric chair the very next day, so we can move on with our lives, and the families of the innocent can have at least SOME closure.

But instead, let's not only waste our valuable time, resources, and money and take him to court. Makes perfect sense.

Sad thing is that he's 100% right. I watched it last night.

I did let out a chuckle when he mentioned that they have streets there named after Confederate generals...I live off a road called Lee Highway lol.

We also have a street in our wonderful commonwealth called Jefferson Davis Highway. Since GoT if I ever have to drive it with passengers in the car who watch the show or read the books I'll just chant "Jefferson Davis, the one true President".

We also have a giant statue of Robert E. Lee in downtown Richmond.

I don't think his gripe was about stopping them completely since that's a naive goal, but to at least make an attempt to address the issue and reduce instances of mass shootings like this.

In most all instances these people who are doing these mass shootings seem to have some serious mental issues yet people just ignore it and say "that's life" yet will beg someone to do something about a group of extreme islamists 3,000+ miles away.
