Good DYI, but I decided to leave my in stock chrome since Titan Tim's looked so good, IMO. Just ordered the parts today.

Mine is a deep sea blue also. I just ordered the parts tonight. I'm wondering what would look best, and also what painting the parts would cost.

Update - Received my parts today from Husker via Overnight shipping - Thanks Mitchell! The quickest part / Accessory swap ever!

Followed the direction on this thread and took in all 5 mins to complete both sides! Thanks to all the trailblazers here . I could not have been happier with this change as the chrome now blends with the other BMW and model logos. Thanks BMW for noticing the flaw in flow and correcting it.

All these LCI side marker upgrades look great. This is in my future plans.

I just received mine. My biggest dilemma now is whether to put them on stock chrome or have them painted some custom color first.

I haven't seen any alpine whites with this mode. White would look best pre-lci since the white blob blends in.

I don't know... I still like the "blob"

Funny how when photos were first revealed, people called it "too rice" and now everyone is retrofitting it.

I had thought so too..., however the chrome blends with other emblems better than white marker did.

On my red, it looks like it belongs but to each his own...

Lets face it, this should have been fitted from the start. Even the few pre release motoring magazine artists guess, had some chrome here.

I'll go one step further say that this part should be actual metal instead of cheap ass chromed plastic. It's no wonder that classic cars hold such a premium.

What is all this non-sense talk about chrome? That is sooo circa 2000. That's why we debadge the side emblems

In all seriousness though, this is the best part about car ownership. We can do whatever we want to our own car, because as said before, to each his own.

I will most likely stick with the pre-LCI, as I do think the LCI one looks a bit too "ricey", especially since it doesn't even serve a real purpose aside from aesthetics (unlike the M3 that has vents).

I like the way the lights are displayed thru the side marker now rather than just illuminating the marker. And the chrome goes better with the surrounding metal.

I placed my order a little over 2 weeks ago. Ended up having to order from my dealer because I couldn't get any U.S. distributors to ship to Toronto. I even set-up that special mail box in Buffalo and then placed an order only to find out that the shipment address must match my credit card address....PITA.....in any case, I digress....

Indicators should be here shortly. I plan on leaving them chrome as well.

You'd have to buy the entire headlight assembly, it's not as simple as two LEDs. Well technically three, because of the new "brow" they have on top of the headlight that also lights up.

Touche.

Either way, it's not as simple as the person I was quoting making it out to be.
