Nothing against HRE, but at the end of the day you still just have badass wheels on a pos.

Idk why people are hating on the styling, it's a good looking car. Reminds me of my 2nd gen Lexus IS though...a big squished from the sides and sits a tad too high.

No range anxiety here... my Model 3 gets 310 miles on $20 worth of energy at the supercharger or $7 worth of energy plugged into my level 2 charger at home. In comparison my BMW M3 gets about 225 miles on $60 of premium grade dyno juice, good thing I just need to buy gas once a month for that since It’s just my weekend toy. That being said I’m topping off with 50 miles of energy every night so no range anxiety here.

Just asking the question since I know the 10.5 inch rear wheels can have an affect on range however just going 9.5 square all around can be a happy medium.

I hate how high it sits as well. I feel like that Tesla set the standard ride height equivalent to the same car with air suspension at the highest setting. It’s got more wheel gap as some crossover SUV’s and just as much ground clearance.

However that’s nothing a set of lowering springs won’t fix. I’m just waiting on Eibach to release their springs which will give it a 1 inch drop that will put it in line with other cars as far as wheel gap and ground clearance... in other words it will look normal. Or maybe I might just do it right the first time around and order a set of Mountain Pass Performance/ KW Coilovers.

However these 20 inch wheels with a bit more of an aggressive offset fill that wheel well nicely I think.

Are you sure, it sounds like you're looking for ways to squeeze a few more miles out by different tire size. Would you ask the same question for your M3?

Actually I’m just trying to convince myself not to buy rimz for my Tesla M3.

I got my Tesla M3 thinking it would just be a boring slightly fancy electric commuter car that can drive itself while sitting in traffic and have my BMW M3 for a weekly dose of 8000 rpm V8 crack. The plan was to just leave the Tesla alone mod wise. Then while ordering the car, my wife says “all your other cars are white, modded, and panda colored... you better do the same with the Tesla”. She’s not helping with my mod addiction. On top of that it’s an amazingly capable and fun to drive car.

And then there’s this
https://www.mountainpassperformance....ion-worldwide/

So yeah I’m really liking these HRE wheels and am trying to convince myself to not get the HRE’s + Coilovers + some carbon fiber bits and pieces

That being said as far as range goes... even if it drops the range... it will still go farther than my BMW M3 on much cheaper energy. (Oh don’t worry I’m still keeping my BMW M3 since it’s one of the last interceptor V8’s in our dystopian electric future)

On the topic, there are no right or wrong answers in a discussion about aesthetics, but i have to agree with most that not even some nice HRE's make the Model 3 look nice.

I'm not a Tesla hater - i really like the Model S. But whenever Tesla's changed its basic shape and proportions, i feel they've really screwed it up - both Model 3 and Model X

They both look like a good design that was hooked up to an air inflator for too long. Just over inflated, need to find the release valve.

I know the frustration... I was gonna get personalized plates that said NTAV8M3... but got a different plate instead. Then was gonna do an educational video of the differences between my V8 M3 and a my Tesla M3 since all the Tesla people refer to their Model 3 as M3.... but got lazy so now I just tell people I have two M3’s

I’d be open to wheelie cool videos or smoking tire doing that video with my 2 M3’s

More annoyingly, on Mazda forums, people refer to the Mazda 3 as an MZ3. Since I had a Z3 M Coupe and a Mazda 3, it got confusing.

I always thought the redesigned front end of the newer Tesla's look better then the old. Plus I love the shape of the sport back on all the Tesla's. The Model 3 looks great with those wheels. The shape just looks so smooth and clean. But it won't replace my M3 ever. The M3 is a whole different animal.

It is simply not an attractive car.

New Tesla Roadster on the other hand looks great.
