C7 - Z51
Review by C&D of the new Stingray was very positive. Priced in line with a new IS, smoking fast, & good handling. Maybe time to rethink the "Made in the USA" Certainly can't beat the bang for the buck.
After the Vette's, Viper's and Porsche's buried the ///M powered Z4's at Road America this past weekend, it appears BMW has defined a new path for the M Group. The most powerful letter in the alphabet now appears pointed at sales - ///M - arketing or ///M - ediocrity in motorsports. http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...ad-test-review

HerrK, I am with you - sales is now the goal and has been for quite some time with BMW and ///M. That being said, we are still in love with our e89. Plus, I do not smoke or wear gold chains, which seem to be required as a Vette owner (just kidding - C7 appears to be an amazing machine).

Agreed, the C7 Z51 is definitely on my radar screen.
And I keep getting feelers to take over my 35i lease but no one bites. Maybe they all decide to order a C7 instead Perhaps the F80 M3 will bring some cred back Would be interesting if they can meet their goal of E46 M3 weight |

I know that this new Vette is the best Vette yet and that the Power and Torque is on par with a stump puller, but in 2 years there will be 10's of 1000's of them on the road and the exclusivity will be no more.
There is NOTHING on the road that looks like the E89 and for me especially, at the discounted price that I paid for my loaded 09- 35i.

And the new Corvette is by no means a 4 year old sexy and rare hard-top convertible roadster. In fact, if you want that, a Z4 sDrive18i is probably the best bang for the buck out there. But as a stupidly fast modern coupe / drivers car, I sincerely hope it will blow all the AWD/turbo/automatic options from Audi, BMW, Porsche, Nissan etc out of their way, and prove that there are other, less expensive, ways to go forward! I like for instance the option of mechanically dropping a few cylinders when they aren't needed! Way to go, instead of that 3 cylinder thing with AWD. |

Well I'm not ready to trade in or sell my Z, since I just receved my clear title last month. Just found the Stingray article interesting! Personally not taken with the new style but it is an amazing car for the price.

The best part is that the C7 Z51 is the base model. The Z06 and ZR1 (if they bring it back) are going to be EPIC
One thing I am not looking forward to is the dealer experience..... Hope Ford has gotten better since a few years ago when I had a Ford Focus |

I was referring to the "m-sport" package that is available for the 35i which gets M styling bumpers, wheels with m stickers, steering wheel with m stickers, door sill with m stickers, but no suspension or drivetrain changes from the regular 35i with sport package
