Some they have every size possible and others they seem to only make a few sizes. Also I did not want to run spacers so with the options they had for the tires I wanted it was either run the 225 up front or run the 255 up front with spacers.
Which Pirelli did you like? How did they work out?

You can fit 245s on the front no problem, I am running 19" x9" wide ET 35 I believe with 245 PSS without any problems, no rubbing not even at full lock

Yeah. I just did this, which says I could even go 255 in front

Hi all! Thanks everyone for your help, I know I have bothered some of you quite a lot with my pm's I finally got my wheels installed. 235/40/18 9J front, 275/35/18 10J rear. The tyres are Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2.

The problem was that PSS did not come in the sizes above and from lots of research it seemed the GY's were one of the few tires which could match PSS (unfortunately Yoko V105 were not available in my sizes too). Apparently in the wet, GY's are even better, which is important in the UK.

The installation was simple - no spacers needed. I have only driven for 3 miles so nothing much to report. However no rubbing, reduced noise (non-rft) and the car seems more responsive when I apply the brakes. The weight reduction is around 7kg per corner (tires + wheels).

And the car finally looks as I want it to look. I always liked the look of cars with thick tire sidewall and no drop Uploading pics now

Looks great! Personally I think a drop would seal the deal, but it looks fantastic as is, too.

Thanks guys! I really like the ride. Yesterday I went for a drive in Central London (the roads are awful, my X6 shakes like a whale giving birth) and the Z4 was very smooth and stable.

My unwillingness to drop the car is just my personal preference, which other people generally find very odd I like cars which sit a bit high and have a meaty sidewall.

So just to clarify when you say they fit, you're talking about the wheels and this tire set up with no rubbing on aggressive turns?

Zero rubbing over bumps or full lock turning. Plenty of clearance.

Exactly. No rubbing. This is especially good keeping in mind that F1 Asymmetric 2 are quite wide. In particular 235 fits up to 9.5J wheels.
