Yeah, I tried the kit from the dealer and it worked great for about a year before breaking. I ended up buying a lexan from Windblox (any other users here?), and they are much much much easier to install. The lexan works better than the mesh does in my humble opinion, too. Definitely a solution I would recommend, especially for the lazy among us.

Re: Hartge Windscreen
From what I have been able to find out, the Hartge windscreen requires the OEM screen mounting brackets. That makes it quite expensive (but it looks good )
Can anyone confirm? Cost BMW windscreen (with mount) - $551.59 Hartge Windscreen - (EUR 327.73) = $444.34 (minus VAT!!) Total cost: $995.93 Sorry, not worth it for me.. Besides I like it when my wifes hair gets all messed up!! |

You can buy the BMW windscreen from BMW of Lincoln for under $350 if you don't buy new front roll bar covers.

Purchased from my BMW dealer, $349.16 for screen kit and $41.49 each for replacement rear silver roll bar covers. Dealer shipped to the house at no cost.

What he said. 3M adhesive is not a good attachment option. Let the car sit in the sun a few times and then see how long the adhesive holds while doing 60 mph +.
Attractive price but I'd want something a little more secure in it's mounting. |

Maybe these:
Attachments appear save, three parts included (for the rollbars as well), items seem to be German TÜV approved (=approved for driving with top speed without endangering pedestrians). http://www.ur-windschott.de/pageID_9307028.html Seller wants € 239, selling to the EU and other countries "upon request" - much better bargain than the Hartge crap. |

we had the roadster solutions product on our 2003 Z4 for 7 years without a single "detachment" or adhesive issue - it is a good product with no problems and I am sure the new set up will be the same

Did it help reduce turbulence within the cockpit?

yes, but it goes from a hurricane to a small tornado - if this is to keep your wife's hair in order, NO product will work but it does reduce the turbulence a bit
