How to remove brake light bulbs

I think I have a brake light with a loose connection between the socket and the bulb. It intermittently goes out.

I have taken the covers off in the trunk and am faced with a a couple of white plugs with wires running to them. I assume these are the bulb holders and just pull out as stated in the manual.

Are there any tricks to this? How much pressure is required? Is it just a pull straight back with no twisting? Just being extra cautious as I do not want to break anything.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Yeah I was also nervous if I would break something the first time, and I never found any detailed instructions on how to pull them out. Anyway I just pulled straight back. They sit very tight so it helps to rock the socket a little bit side to side, but no twisting is required.

Thanks,

Just a little wiggle and pull and they came right out.

I just installed these cheap T10 LEDs as brake lights (I selected the white version)

http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=...4907996.qrMUAp

They look way too "blue" for my taste, and hardly bright enough. Also the car thinks the bulbs are broken - probably because they dont need much current.

The only upside is that they turn on and off much quicker than the standard bulbs.

I wonder if others found any suitable LEDs for the brake lights for this car.
