Then now you know why the nfl is the wrong medium to protest anything.

only people mad about people protesting for equality for all are the people that want to divide. They have the right to protest and you have the right not to like it. Hating or being mad shows your true colors.

Well, to be fair, I think he's already half way done - so, maybe not as bad as it sounds. He's an honorary "wide receiver".

Who's mad about people protesting? In general not me. I don't think a sporting event is the place for it--that was my point. Not looking for dividing at all...the opposite. I see these guys as being the ones dividing in an event where everyone is supposed to be equal and a team. Players on teams, regardless of race or color are equal in the sporting world.

Ive said since day 1 there are better ways to go about this "protest" and I still believe it was all to keep Kaepernick relevant and even probably saved him from getting cut. 49ers were preparing to cut ties before this happened, but now if they did, they would be hated and boycotted. Would have never realized he was that smart from watching his QB play...

Sure it got the country talking about an issue, but it also created a pretty big divide. If his whole goal is unity and equality, he did not succeed.

I wish I could care about any of this protesting nonsense. I just mute the National Anthem part of the broadcast, as I always have, and wait for the game to start. Zero fucks given here.

Yes. I couldn't care less about the player's decision to protest. I don't agree with what they are doing and to a degree i don't think many of them know what they are doing. But it's their right. The NFL doesn't seem to care, the teams don't seem to care, i most certainly don't.

I just don't want to see segments of the game, half time, pre-game, etc.. devoted to their actions. They think this is doing something, but it's not. It's not accomplishing anything. The media is talking about their actions, focusing on who's standing, kneeling, fist in the air, etc... they aren't talking about the cause. Why, because Kap didn't state a legitimate cause. He gave his ignorant opinion and offended many people, then retracted, then retracted a bit more. Now people are patting him on the back and they don't even know why.

I avoid his antics in the news and i don't want to see them when watching football. It's turned the National Anthem into a media circus event. We used to have 2 maybe 3 cameras of players during the anthem with the main camera time spent on the flag and those holding it. Now there is one camera on the flag and all others are on the players.

Then the jack asses in the booth talk about it for a few, then they hand it off to the whore on the field who recaps exactly what all the players were doing, before, during and after the NA.

Deplorable. The whole thing is so lame. I agree there are racial problems in this country but I don't think this is the medium for protest.

Fuck them..blacks, whites, Asians and whatever..play the game...not politics you dumbfucks. That's why I am a big Hockey fan..once again because they honor the anthems and play and worry about putting the teeth in.
It's just sad.

And yet, when a guy scores a touchdown and does a few pelvic thrusts, he gets 15 yard penalty . . . .

Yeah right? I was just thinking about that. That's not freedom of speech?

Let me chime in......Watching Dak Prescott and Jason Witten not only stand, but put their hands over their heart during the anthem......that made me proud!

I try to separate politics from sports, watching football is a good escape from all the bs political crap. As a Niner fan the only thing I'm pissed about is paying 11.9 million to a 2nd string QB.

I had been a lifelong Niners fan up until a few years ago.
I finally got fed up with all of the arrests and run-ins with the law, when the hell did they turn into the Raiders?
I couldn't in good conscience support the team any more.

This last misguided attempt of silent protest sealed the deal for me, esp on 9/11.
I'm done with the Niners and the rest of the NFL for good.
They're of course free to protest, but I think the manner and venue at which they decided to do it is very misguided and could have been accomplished in a more constructive way.

Yeah I'm not a avid football fan, but you choose to let something bother you. You can choose to ignore it. Move on I say.
