short tire stem

So I checked my new tires' pressure for the first time and discovered that the tire stem(?) is shorter than it used to be: why is that? Now, I can't use my tire pressure indicator effectively, so is there an easy solution, like some sort of 'stem extender', etc? Thx.

I would make a stop at Canadian Tire, I am sure they have an extension for your tire pressure gauge. Give it a try.

Good luck

^That's what I thought but the guy on the phone said "no"...maybe he doesn't know his products?

Just wondering if the shop that installed my new tires should give me a longer stem or would they charge extra? The stem is shorter than it was (not sure if new tires entails new stems or they just use the old ones?).

Do a Google search on "Tire Valve Stem Extension" you'll find all sizes and lengths.

My stem is pretty long. Sorry you have short one. I've seen ads for stem extenders but I can't vouch for their safety.

If I buy an extender, I'll only put it on when I'm checking my pressure; not on permanently.

Wondering about below:

That is correct, you only need one you can then use it on all four tires. As suggested google it or have a look here ---> Click to open

Canadian Tire or order one on line. God Luck
