2 second lag
Hi All, wondering if this is unique to my car, if im parking and i go change from reverse to Drive (DTC auto/man 35is) there seems to be a 2 second lag where the hill holder does not engage. I unknowingly parked on a hill, reversed in and changed quickly to drive and put my foot on the accelerator only to have the car roll back about 1 meter before Drive kicked in, luckily there was no car behind me, now i put my foot on the brake and wait until i feel the car pull slightly then release.....

I had exactly the same "DCT lag" when i bought the Z back in 2009, I didnt mind it much and the lag went away after a firmware update the car had at the dealership.

I think you might be at cross purposes... the OP is talking about hill assist I think. The lag on DCT was when it couldn't decide which gear was next under normal driving conditions. There has always been a lag changing between reverse and forward gears and this hasn't been solved for most people. For the hill assist to work you must be stationary, so, you would reverse into the space, put your foot on the brake, engage drive, wait for it to change gear and the hill assist will also apply the brake at this point, then drive forward as required.
