I'm also searching lpfp options. I'm bummed how difficult access from underneath will be relative to simpler backseat removal. N54tech.com seems to be the knowledge and experience base to use. I have no plans for 50-100% e85 use so the addition of an inline non-ethanol type pump option is my goal. I'll replace oem regulator/filter with oem and add inline either external or internal, but both locations will likely require prototyping implemetation. Keep in touch.

I am the person that has been experimenting with running upgraded LPFP in the Z4. I ran the Walbro 455 in my car for a few months and it worked but was very noisy. I switched to the AEM E85 pump and it works great. I have been running it for about 3 months but I am getting ready to sell it because it is difficult to get E85 where I live. The closest E85 station to me is about 20 miles away. Let me know if you are interested. I posted the dyno difference between 93 and E85 here: http://e89.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1061873
It is not very difficult to remove and replace the pump. The biggest issue is that you have to remove the exhaust. Getting the pump out of the tank and putting it back in is a 10 minute job. The Z4 has a different LPFP system than all of the other N54 cars. Every other N54 car has a LPFP sensor but the Z4 does not. |

Thanks for the advice Lambobimmer. I already have a spare bucket. I was going to buy the Walbro 455 for it but based on your advice I'll go with the AEM. I would have been interested to buy your setup if I was in the US, but as I already have the bucket and I live in Australia it is probably cheaper me buying just the pump.

I ended up taking my AEM bucket off of the market. I am going to give you some advice. I would not change the LPFP in the Z4 at this time. I ended up buying a new OEM LPFP and it produces more power than the AEM or Walbro pump did. I don't know why this is the case but it does. I would wait until Steve from Fuelit comes up a solution that will work for our cars. |

Noted Lambobimmer, thanks for the advice! I'll sell the AEM pump I bought back on eBay (just arrived) :-(
So are you saying that you can now run E with the new OEM pump? What is the OEM part number of the pump you bought? |
