Where is my car?
My Z4 made it to the port in Bremerhaven on April 30. 2 ships have left the port since then and I can't track the car on the shipper's website. I enter the VIN and it shows "no record found". I called BMWUSA, they said to call my SA, who told me that once it's on the ship he can't track it either.
How did you guys find out shipping progress on your cars? I know I've seen posts about what ship your cars were on.

Mine left Bremerhaven on March 16th and arrived exactly 29 days later at the dealer, ready for pick-up. I expect you probably have at least another 2 week wait on your hands and a couple more sleepless nights!
Once on the boat and crossing the ocean, neither BMW Canada or the dealer could advise where the car was at any given time. However, with the boat name from the dealer, I was able to track the ship across the Atlantic, but be warned, it's not quite real-time until the boat actually lands at the port of exit - at least in my case that was true. When's my car going to be built?
How did you guys find out when your car was built and what ship it was on?
I have asked the senior SA at the dealership where the car was ordered and he has no idea how to find out! |

Finding out when your car was built is the easy part. Go to www.bmwusa.com, create an account, add your vehicle (with the vehicle production number or VIN) and you can then track its progress through manufacturing. BMW stops tracking the car as soon as it reaches the port. That's my problem right now. It's on a ship, but no one knows which of 2 ships it might be. So I don't know when it will reach NYC. I live about 5 hours from the dealership and would like to make plans to receive the car, other than last minute plans, that is.

Thanks! Now I just need to get the dealer to tell me my VIN.
Can't wait for it to arrive down here; it was supposed to be built in mid May and be delivered in mid July, and I want to check how it's going. |

Finally! I am now able to track my car on the Aida, departed Bremerhaven on 5/12, due to arrive in NY on 5/26, barring any delays. Hopefully, my car will be ready for delivery the first weekend of June!

Is there a corresponding Aussie website (BMWAUS?) Or call them and speak to alive person. Try the production number rather than the VIN.

Already been right through the Australian BMW site - they do not support tracking feature. Also have already asked Dealer for build date info, & only gave me VIN not P/N. Actually asked dealer for approximate delivery date - no response.
I'll just have to wait until I hear from the dealer that it is ready to collect. |

The production is on your purchase order form. He probably just doesn't want to be bothered.

Can anyone tell me if such tracking system is available in UK (but I don't think so)? I was told by dealer that my car had been built and heated seats could not be added now.

http://www.bmwblog.com/2009/07/14/ho...d-to-delivery/ I'm not sure if there is a UK equivalent to the BMW NA order tracking service... or whether, given your Production #/VIN # you could use the BMW NA phone number to track your order. I'd be happy to try if you would like...

Yes, that should be your production number from BMW. It can be used to track your car on the BMW website, but you need your VIN to track the ship it's on.

Why can't UK have the same system to track new car order? BMW USA could not find production number of my E89 (probably it is RHD and not ordered in US). I think only BMW USA has tracking service for BMW owners.

Tell me about it! Maybe if BMW didn't provide access to manufacturing shipping info, it would be less of an anxious time because you couldn't track anything. But here I am, watching the Aida on it's course over the Atlantic to NYC. It's like watching water boil!!
