Best Coilovers for Daily Driving Comfort?
Hello everyone! I want to lower my 28i without affecting the comfort level much so which coilovers would be best? The car won't be tracked and I'm pretty much looking to get rid or minimize the wheel well gap. Handling in cornering should improve either way once lowered so my main concern is the ride quality. I'm in Los Angeles as well so pot holes and dilapidated roads everywhere.
I am considering the H&R Street Performance or KW V1, which is best of the two for daily driving comfort? Any other coilover suggestions other than those two? Or will springs like Eibach Pro-Kit suffice for what I need? I searched and did not find much info on which coilover/springs affects the ride comfort the least. Any help is appreciated, thanks! So, you have a sDrive30i with 17's. I would just go with. Set of springs. The K&N's are smoother than the Eibach's according to what is posted on the German forums, but you are going to give up some comfort. Do you have Active Suspension?

Seems like H&R springs drops 1.2" all around while the Eibach Pro-Kit drops 0.8"F/0.4R, I'm not sure I'd want the H&R springs as that might be way too low for most driveways. Quote:
Any opinions on the coilover options? |

I would be waiting for a while, and let someone else "test" the various pieces. Kinda hard to back out of this mod if doesn't suite you. I waited until the German sites had posted all the reviews before I made my choice.
I was mainly looking to reduce, or at least get better control over the under steer built into the Z4, and to get a slight drop to go with the 19" wheels. We still have acceptable streets over here so this combo works. Based upon the reports, the Eibach were reported to be harder than the H & R, so I went with the softer setup, which works really well, except over cobblestones with a headache...but even then, it is a great ride. |

Quick questions, Eibach claims a 0.8"/0.4" drop, but is that with the M Sport suspension (0.4" lower)? Can anyone confirm, because mine doesn't have the M Sport option so should I be expecting a 1.2"/0.8" drop from the Eibachs? Also, the springs should fit all trim level right? Mines a 28i but the ones sold for 35i should fit w/o a problem, right?

Hey!
I also live in LA area and I have KW1 installed on my car at **********s recently with help of Alan Wei. Car looks way better, at the same time it did not loose even a fraction of comfort. In fact, I would even go for a stiffer option. |

You're right, the current Eibach springs aren't recommended for the 28i with the new N20 engine.
