Video Playback Capabilities

Anyone know whether video playback either from a single DVD or iPhone is possible through the nav screen. Wondering if it is possible without the six disc DVD system...or even if it is possible with that option when parked.

The fact that you can watch DVD's while parked, whether you have the changer or not, is in my manual. Did they leave this part out of yours? If you don't have a paper manual (because you haven't got a Z4 yet or for some other reason), an official .pdf can be downloaded from bmwusa.com. The .pdf version is considerably easier to search, as well.

You can do video playback with an iPhone, if you have the BMW Apps option (6NR) available on the 2011 models, and the iphone docking cradle.

Memphis1,
it is with great sadness that I realized that ... you changed your avatar image... I frankly preferred the previous one. What happened ? You got a divorce ?

It's useful for long drives

I used mine on the way to vegas

took us 9 hours to drive 280 miles
we were literally sitting in traffic not moving at all for 2 hours... it came in very handy

my gf would have killed me if we didn't have a movie to watch
