Z4 front jack point
2011 Z4 35i ...
Manual shows jack points on the sides. What about the front ? I noticed this and wondering if it is a jack point to raise the car. Appreciate any help. Last edited by cuddapah; 10-30-2017 at 03:36 PM.. |

Use a scissor or small jack to lift one side of car at side jack point high enough to slide a big jack under car to jack point in picture. When finished lower car back onto small jack so big jack can be pulled out from under car. Then lower small jack.

There are 4 Jack points on the sides and you should use this : http://www.n54tuning.com/index.php?_...d&productId=77
to jack it up with. I never noticed that center one. I'll have to check it out. |

Another trick I use is to buy hockey pucks. I then wrap a hose clamp around the outside to keep it from splitting. Works great and is cheap.

While I have yet to have to have the car on Jack Stands, I would think that if you buy the ones recommended by "fmorelli" in the previous post, they are cheap enough to buy all four and use them with the Jack Stands? I believe the round part would fit on the Jack Stand? Not sure but they are cheap enough to try it out unless someone else has already tried them. I am guessing that you could jack up the car from that center jack point then use the stands with the pads on the side jack points? Like I said, I haven't tried it just thinking that it may work.

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8...zdaUmZCb3FKbEk Because lowering the car back down onto a scissor jack at the side jack point (in order to remove the floor jack from the center jacking point)was very precarious, I built two ramps using 2x6s stacked 2 high. This gives enough clearance for the jack and is a safer alternative.
