Vacuum Pump on Z4 35i
Does anyone know for sure what type of vacuum pump is installed on our
twin turbo N54B30 engines? Vane or Scroll? My Dodge Cummins Diesel has one but this is to be expected on a diesel with no throttle plate.

Only a guess but based on the picture from Real OEM diagrams it looks like a vane type pump since the drive shaft is offset from the housing.

Yep,
I believe you are correct, there isn't enough length for a scroll type pump. It also appears it is driven by the same chain that drives the oil pump. This engine resembles a diesel in lots of ways. thanks,
