Help! E89 or E92

Hello! This is the very first time that I write here! It is an amazing forum...thanks to everybody!
I am really having trouble deciding which car should I buy. My dream has always been the e89 with the m pack (19'' wheels). But I think that in a few years I will need some more space than only two seats. I am only 22, but I am finishing university. My problem is that apart from being my dream, E92 is also going to be replaced in some time. It's a very difficult dilema...can you help me? Thanks a lot!

Had both.

E92 Great car. No regrets. E89, also great, but you live with more limitations for the extra style and open top.

If it were my only car I would have a E92.

Lucky for my I have the option to have my cake and eat it too.

At 22 you have plenty of time to buy more cars, so I would say get either and enjoy.

Man, you're 22. You'll have plenty of time to be practical and rational when you're older. Live your dream now.

Thank you . The problem is that we are in a serious economical crisis, and we cannot buy many cars. Our government is very strict with cars nowadays. I like both cars, but the E92 is about to be replaced. On the other hand, this creates good business oportunities...I am confused!

I was in the same dilemma 2 years back, I went for the Z4 because I have another car to use if I need more than 2 seats or a real boot.

A good decision would be going for the E92, you know you'll need more space down the line. Maybe you could wait for the new one, the new 3 (F30) isn't a bad option either & leaves you a nice big mod budget

If it helps, we're the same age group.

There are many versions of the E92 and E89. All things being equal in terms of performance, I agree with the others, get the 2 seater. Life's too short not to live your dream!

That said, personally, if I had to give up horsepower to get E89, I would think twice.

Yeah...you know how difficult it is, then! My girlfriend also loves the zed, but she is always warning me about being practical. I am afraid of mixing up things and go for the e92 knowing that it is cheaper and more practical, but not the one that I really dream of. It's like being or not being rational...you understand.

Depends if we are talking e92 m3; then I would take that. But if its a 335 or 328; i would go with the z4.

Honestly I daily drive my z4 and I use it for work too. Never a problem, i load up the things for my restaurant in it and whatnot and I have put 41k miles in 2 years!

I say go for the zed but you cant go wrong with the e92 m3 either. In all honesty, i prefer it over the newer ones coming out.

Good luck with your decision and no matter what you choose, you cant go wrong!

At 22 do you really need the 2 rear seats? That's the question.
Because if you don't.... get the Z, don't think it twice!!
1) Way better looking car.
2) Coupe or cabrio in 20 seconds.
3) The Z Fxx series is scheduled for 2016, while the F32, 4 series, is coming...
Otherwise, wait for that one, the F32, but don't get the "old" E92...
Thinks that when the first E92s were produced you were only 17!!!

Zed. We have two E92 cars. I didn't think I'd like the Zed as much as I do. I'd take it if the wife would let me, but it's her car.

If you want to have fun, enjoy going to car meets, or getting on the track, go for E92 M3. There is a larger fan crowd for the E9X M3. Check out the forum sometime. This was yesterday's drive meet: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=733305 Unfortunately there were no E89 Z4 at all.
