Really? You can really tell and judge by looking at the camo?

if it looks like an M8... has a license plate that says M8... then.....

.... you gotta respect the BMW camo game..

Seeing as this is a preview teaser of a vehicle.. I don't really find it important that some of the video may not be of an actual finished car..

No. The next generation 6er is the the 6 GT and will replace today's 5 GT.
Sadly I think you are right.

I'd bet the majority of us would prefer a 911 equivalent though

Also shame that it looks like the enormous grill from the concept 8er isn't present

So the 6er is now going to be the 8er and the 5GT is going to be the 6er? BMW has too much time and too many models in its line up. The naming doesn't make sense and I've been following and a fanboy for as long as I can remember.

If this 8 series concept if truly built off the 5 series platform it's truly not an 8er. It's still a 6er, don't be fooled.

I thought the 5 series shared its platform with the 7 series? Wouldn't the 8 series technically be based on the 7 series too?

My only doubt that this is an M8 is that they've JUST shown what the 8 series concept looks like... way too early for this.

Indeed -- seems crazy and impossible from a timing perspective

I think you've just made me realise the etymology of the expression 'all 6s and 7s'. It was nothing to do with an old dice game, it was the state of confusion from customers who came out of BMW dealerships.

M8 will get AWD/RWD like new M5?

There literally( one of a kind proto, courtesy of BMW AG/M GmbH) is only one M8, 550BHP V12:

Cheers M8s

I hope this early announcement is beginning a new era where M cars arrive sooner in the series model lifecycle.

Now that the new 8 series has been revealed (meh), why the need to keep the M8 under camo? Is it even uglier than the 8?
