Z4 Cup Holder Help....

Hey guys,

I am trying to retrofit the Z4 cup holder, and I need some help with the necessary parts as there is one that I cannot find pictured below.

These are the part numbers that I have:

Item# 1: 51 16 9 173 501 (Cup Holder)
Item# 2: 51 16 9 181 369 (Cover Black)
Item# 7: 61 31 7 682 091 (Screw)
Item# 8: 01 14 7 122 390 (Screw)

I have worked with my local dealer and had no luck locating the part number for receptacle piece in the picture above. Anybody know he part number of this guy?

Anyone? I believe that the similar part on the 1 series is called:

Cup Holder Support Lower: 51 16 9 122 656

If someone were even willing to take a quick look at their Z4 and see if they can get a part number off of their installation I would appreciate it.

I went to the dealer and they do not sell a complete kit. I ordered the "cup holder" and it only came with the piece that holds the cup. It appears that the receptacle is separate.

Anyone......

ZeroG,

I took delivery of my new '11 Z4 and have an entire cupholder that's extra (came with 2 for some odd reason).

Willing to sell it to you if you're still interested / looking for a whole unit?

Regards
Dave

Anyone......
I found a part number for a complete retrofit kit (P/N: 51-16-2-156-851). My dealer tried to get it for me, but it was listed as not approved for US sales. He called the DOT department to see if they'll it go through and his request was denied.

He said maybe someone in the EU could get it for me and ship it out. I was able to purchase all the parts individually except the receptacle piece that the cup holder plugs into.

As a test I had the dealer order the same part for the 1 series (P/N:51-16-9-122-656) to see if they were interchangeable and it turns out they're not as the holes don't line up. My quest continues....

If someone could help me out with a part number it would be appreciated.

Chad,

Managed to upload the pix I took this morning. As you can see, no part numbers are listed anywhere on the holder.

there wouldn't be a part number on the cup holder. what Zero G is looking for is the part where the cup holder goes into. none of the schematics quote the part number but there clearly is one.

Ah ok understood, thanks for clarifying.

I just popped out to the parking lot to check and I don't see any (visible) part numbers on that piece and can't figure out how to remove it from the center console in order to check the inside of that part.

Sorry I can't help Chad.

If I'm not mistaken, that part comes together with the bracket that holds the cup holder in. On my invoice, I have 2 parts listed:

511 691 91369 - bracket
511 621 56851 - cup holder

Hope this helps...

Well i have checked both RealOEM.com & getBMWparts.com diagrams and have not been able to locate the part number for the piece I am missing. I have not tried emailing Tischer directly, but would be willing to do so. I did have a competent local parts guy do some checking for me and he was not able to get it. I can only assume that the guys from Tischer would run into the same road blocks.

I checked both Euro and US ETKs via RealOEM.com and GetBMWParts.com both of which do not list those as valid part numbers. If part number (511 691 91369) is the receptacle piece that I am looking for would you be willing to mail it to me from Canada?

Hi Richard,

Sorry I missed your July post/question. Was at the cottage for awhile and just got back on the 8th.

Sorry, no I sold the cup holder to friend locally (Toronto) at the end of June, so couple of months now.

Sorry.
