My arm has been sitting on the armrest for all 14,000 miles in the white Nappa Leather and it still looks like the day I bought it. ..and in AZ, I am always wearing a short sleeve shirt, so constant contact with skin has not deteriorated the leather at all. The seats look brand new too.

The white Nappa Leather is the easiest leather I've ever had to maintain. I wipe with leather cleaner/conditioner once every 2 weeks or so and that's it. No hard rubbing required.

The idiot that owned that car you saw probably tried to use some type of chemical to clean the leather, that ruined it. They say there is an idiot born every minute. That one bought a Z4.

Maybe he was one of those guys that shower every week whether he needs it or not. Really though, I can only say that both the armrest and area near the start button were obviously dirty. Perhaps he did use the wrong cleaner and removed the surface finish with it.
