Hi Rom3n,

Thanks for the update. I have three questions:

1. Will this work for the 35is version of the Z4?
2. Will it work for Australian cars (ie worldwide usage)?
3. How long does it take to flash?

Works on 35is.

Works on all North American and Euro spec cars.

Initial installation on N54 takes about and hour to read and write. Once installed the map switching only takes a few minutes.

The Direct flash unit has a 1 year warranty. Our software is warrantied for the duration of ownership of the vehicle for the customer.

what maps do the direct flash come with pre-loaded?

is there a safety or reset feature in case you brick the DME? (you accidently kick the cable out while the file is uploading)

Good question ttuner - what's the chance of bricking the ECU and what safety measures are there?

One hour seems like a long time. The COBB unit only takes 20 mins. This increases the chance of something going wrong during this time.

Unless you go out of your way to screw up the installation you cant. The unit will always program if you follow the instructions. If you do figure out a way to mess up the installation any issue can be resolved. There is no way to "brick" the ECU.

Maps do not come pre-loaded. Software is made based on the vehicle and options desired and sent to the customer.

Yes

Anytime you program your car it is recommended to hook up a battery charger.

i mean does it come with stage 1, and i have to buy stage 2?
or does the software cost extra on top of the flash loader?

I am soooo tempted to order but don't want to be the guinea pig as am on other side of world!

Also Rom3n do you mind telling us how you have been able to cater for all N54-equipped cars worldwide with all the different ROMs etc when someone like Cobb can only do USA cars? Are you doing something different to Cobb?

It comes with stage 1 or stage 2 software.

We have been tuning and developing forced induction software for
BMW's for 15 years. We have offices for development and R&D in Europe and in North America. During this time we have specialized in BMW. We did not just start tuning BMW's this year. I cannot comment on Cobb because I have no first hand knowledge of what they can or cannot tune so im the wrong person to ask. I can only tell you what we have the ability to do

after you load your software and use it. if you load again the stock profile and take it to the dealer, can they detect that the ECU has been previously changed ?

0-100 means very little (traction variances). it you need to measure 100-200km/h to determine a car's true power.

Ghani, I'm flashing an Australian Z4 35i. Took only 5 days to get the unit shipped to Australia (including a weekend!), and an hour to download the original ROM image from the car. The ROM firmware was detected and recognised, so it should be fine for you.

I'm happy )
