headlights 101

I have no idea what lights we have, are they bi-xenons aka HIDs? Anyway, didn't think too much of it but after 4 yrs/121,000kms/75,000miles, one of my headlight bulbs burnt and I had it replaced. Then recently I was reading stuff online and supposedly these HIDs last for a very long time...not sure if my bulb lifespan is normal or not? I'm still guessing that this should be avg but just wanna know about you guys. Thx.

BMW market Xenons as 'lasting the lifetime of the car'. Which usually means about 10 years. You've been unlucky with that.
