Powder Coated Brake Calipers

Has anyone here done or thought about powder coating their OEM brake calipers? It amazes me that BMW doesn't offer this as an option. It would add such a great look to the car without paying $4000 for performance brakes. The calipers on my 2006 525 look awful but I'm thinking more about the Z4 I'm getting in 3 weeks. I'm not really interested in painting the calipers because I think that's just going to be a maintentance problem when the paint chips or peels.
Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

I have thought about this option too with better brake pads and stainless steel lines you would have much better brakes and looks for less than $1,000.
