Audio Problem

I have the premium audio system in my 2010 sDrive35i. Recently, I brought it into the dealer because the entire audio system randomly stops working---not just music but bluetooth, nav, etc. I've been told by people when it has happened that they can hear me on the BT but I can't hear them. The dealer said that the car needed a software update and that it should fix it. That was 3 weeks ago and it's now worse than ever. It seems to happen after I've been driving the car for 20-30 minutes. The audio system just dies. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any causes/solutions? I'm guessing that it has something to do with the amp overheating or failing but don't really know for sure. Thanks.

I haven't experienced that in my E89, but did have that happen in my '06. It did the exact same thing. It would be fine for about thirty minutes and then everything would shut down. I would get a pre-recorded message from BMW assist constantly. I can't recall what the message was, but know it had nothing to do with the sound system shutting down. A software fix solved the problem and it never happened again for as long as I had the car.

Yes, I should have specified that I have the iDrive system in mine.
