I always, ALWAYS open my girl's door (by hand!) to let her in and out. I was raised in an old school family where if we didn't do that our mom hit us in the back of the head! It's taken my current girlfriend some time to get used to (to wait for me to get out and make it around the car before she jumps out haha) because she was single for a long time before me and never seemed to have dated a gentleman apparently. Chivalry is not dead. She has yet to reach over and unlock mine yet though! Bronx Tale!

Although I appreciate that you're a gentleman, I really think the opening of car doors is unnecessary. Opening a restaurant door is nice though.

I open the car door for her to get in but not to get out. It just seems a little bit strange to me having to run all the way around to open it for her to get out. I always open restaurant doors and also pull out her chair for her to sit down. And before anyone chimes in and say to stop putting women on pedestals, that is simply not the case. That's just being chivalrous.

I do this too. I'm so chivalrous it makes me feel a little bit like a pussy. But that's okay, don't want a poor girl to strain her arm opening a door.

This! Fucking this!!! Why the hell do people use the glass part? It irks me to no end. I drove a familar member to the dealership the other day, she got out and closed the door using the glass part while it was wide open. The other thing is when people slam the trunk lid like it's a damn door. You don't need to put that much force to close it!! Every time someone slams that lid while I'm in the car I cringe because it's so damn loud and unnecessary.

I'd use one finger, right where the glass met the rubber trim and closed the door. Never saw it on the glass, never touched the paint, perfect solution.

Only if my wife or girlfriend was pregnant would I be running to the other side to open and close the door for her. Open and close doors for them and they start expecting more and more from you everyday. Before you know it you will start getting into arguments because of things you did not do which you were supposed to have done. The less they expect the less headaches for you down the road.
