Should I put the M logo in the back after the Z4
Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone put the M logo after Z4 in the back trunk since we bought the M Sport package, and all the M's are already inside the cabin and the wheels. If any one did that, please advice where to get M logo and pictures of the results please . And should I get the stick-on one or the one you have to drill hold to the exterior. Thanks! |

IMO, if you ask in a BMW forum, most of the answers will be: "NOOOOO, it's rice" or similar.
But, for a no BMW enthusiast, probably it looks good or even fantastic... so.... If YOU like it, go for it. Never mind what people says or thinks .

Ummm, are you asking if you should claim that your E89 is an //M when it actually isnt?
If that's the case, Lord no. Poser is the first thing that comes to mind. but BMW's mass marketing of the //M brand is obviously working. A few cosmetic changes does not make anything an //M. Please don't. I also debadged the front fender Sdrive 35is markers on our 2012. That doesn't make her into something she isn't, just cleans her up (in my eyes) and makes her easier to polish

Inevitably pics of your "M" will show up on a forum like this one and lambasted for being a poser. Regardless of whether or not you care, don't do it for the sake of the poor car..., she just doesn't deserve it.

You might get keyed for doing so. Just get an M license plate frame. It would go with all your M accessories interior and your wheels (if you they have M on them). Plate frame is just another accessory.

You know what do what you want. BMW sprinkled M badges inside the cabin on the IS. They really should have dropped one on the rear too. I have the Ess tune and frankly i can dust other M cars. Just my opinion.

Having an M on some of the bits and pieces in the interior that came from the factory that way is fine, but if it's not an M car, an M badge just doesn't belong there, IMO.

Shashi27, that means you don't suggested putting the M in the rear right? I am so new to this car and not a track racer, s o I am not sure what is Ess tune ! When you said you can dust the M cars, is that the slang four you can kick their butts ?

Agree with this wholeheartedly as I did the same. No badges anywhere on any of my BMW's except the roundels, but I echo everyone else. It's your car... do what you want. It sounds like the new 35is cars might be marketed (and therefor badged) that way so you might fit in sooner than later anyway, though it looks like your car is a 35i, not a 35is.

I have a '12 35is with ESS and a stock '08 E92 M3. The Z will take the M3 in a straight run, but lose badly on a track or autoX. It's easy to have a fast straight car, but races are won in and out of the corners.

[QUOTE=mybank2828;12657225]Hi All,

The people who will think its stupid, are the people who know cars, like us, as we all know they dont make an M E89. I see it all the time, mustangs with GT emblem, when the car only has one muffler, Mercs with Amg badges, who are they trying to kidd You are putting M badges on to impress other car drivers, but those drivers will know its a fake, and you will look like a tool, leave it alone, people who dont know cars, will not know about the M anyway, so whats the point. |

I wouldn't do it. It's not really an M car. Its just like any other series with M package, it doesn't have an M on the trunk. The real M car has LSD and a real M engine. 1M is the odd child that didn't get a proper M engine
