A Happy Ending to Z4 Damage
To all of those who read or responded to our sob story concerning "A Long Tale about Z4 Damage" - thanks. As of today, the new Z4 is being shipped in from Cleveland. BMW NA called me yesterday and confirmed that they would "swap" cars (our damaged one for a new one of our selection). So, based on their instruction I went to the dealer today and finalized the deal with a straight up swap for a similarly equipped car. It seems that once the facts of our case made it high enough up the management chain, things happened quickly - just as many of you suggested. Thank you BMW of North America for taking care of your loyal customers and renewing my faith in your great car company!
Now, let's get this one in the garage and install the Eisenmann Race Exhaust!!! Last edited by Vintage; 01-27-2010 at 10:48 AM.. |

Great news! I was hoping for that end result. Are you getting a similar equipped '09 or '10?

Roger that. If my plane is on time I hope to arrive at The Welt by 9 am. I am taking my laptop so if they have WIFI I will try and post pics while I am in the Welt as my hotel charges out the ying yang for WIFI time. I am really looking forward to spending 2 full days at The Welt and then all day Sunday touring Munich. Given the forecast I'll probably be drinking lots of good German Kaffee. Snow is forecast for the entire time I am there along with temps in the 20s.

So who is gonna get stuck with the lemon in the future?
I can't wait for the owner of the "Lemon" to start posting their issues on this forum.

well, that is concerning but for today we are happy about the new car - legally it has not been declared a lemon but we can testify that it will leave a very very sour taste in your mouth; hey, when they work out the suspension problem in a month or two, it might be a good car for someone with the proper disclosure

Frankly I no longer believed that a company like BMW, or any other for that matter, would do the right thing - IMHO true customer service was a thing of the past. Sometimes, if you worked hard enough it was possible to get some people to help you out. My comments here and elsewhere reflected that as well. This does go a long way to restore faith. Well done BMW and keep it up! |

Lucky mustard. 2 Z4s in 6 months. I 'm truly happy you resolved this in the best way possible. It really hurt reading what you went through all these months. Congrats on the reborn and I 'm sure you will enjoy your new baby.

Great news James! BMWNA really does take care of their customers. It just took a little longer. Best of luck with the new one.
