Well, let me rephrase that: if the AC system was overheated, it's a pile of gigantic bull droppings. Especially since there was no code or notification or other indication to that effect. I could understand the compressor giving up, but the whole system? No blower, no button press works, no lights on the buttons/indicators? Maybe - as you said - it's two different issues? |

As I recall, I encountered this ac problem 4 times during the first 6 months of ownership. Two failures were when the car had been sitting in the climate controlled garage, overnight, and the other two times were on the road when making a pit stop for gas, when I restarted the car no ac. After sitting for a while, the ac functioned correctly. No issues during the past 12 months.....

Bad news ... it seems the codes stored in the car are bogus codes (for software glitches). While they are working with the codes, AC started working again. They were told to check the battery .... I don't understand why battery will be at fault when everything else is working. The service manager is doing everything he can, no doubt about it. But I am requesting BMW factory tech visit as they might be having better diagnostic tools.

Oh man, this seems like one of those "chasing ghosts".
I had a emissions vacuum leak that would always act up and no matter how much money I threw at it, it never went away... |

Man, this HVAC prb is relentless. Re it not working, I doubt that it's overheating/enviromentally-related, just something to do w/ the electronics imho.

My 09 35i experienced 1 AC malfunction. It was functioning properly then just stopped working the next day. I pulled the fuse from the fuse box in the upper side passenger side foot well and reinstalled it. This reset the the AC and I ha e not experienced any further issues in the past 45 days.
