Kief’s turn…2011 Z435is!
As some of you know, last month I started a thread on the [Crazy “is” Residuals]. Although I had a 2009 Z435i, my intention of posting was to share the knowledge for other members. Well fast forward to yesterday, when I took delivery of a 2011 Z435is: Titanium Silver over Coral Red; 19s”, Premium; Premium Sound; Nav; Comfort Access; and Heated Seats--$71,075 clams!
As not to bore you with the specific calculations of the deal, since it looks like the 2011s are drying up, finding the “right” car which had been sitting on a lot forever (more room to negotiate), negotiating the deal, applying all applicable credits (i.e., loyalty, Drive USA), and burying $2500 worth of negative equity from the ’09 Z (I know…I know, breaking the #1 rule when trying to get out of a lease—but the deal was too good to pass up!), my new payment ended up being 23% less than what I was paying. Considering this is an “is,” $10k more, 2011 MY, and has more options than my ’09 Z, overall I am very pleased with the deal. The best part--the color! My ’09 Z was blk sapp (not my first choice, not even on my radar, but when the E89s first came out I had to have one), and although blk looks great when cleaned and in the shade (to hide swirls) I noticed every single paint imperfection!!! Sadly however, I can also see the imperfections on the new Z--but I’m ridiculously OCD! BTW, anyone in the market for a used set of 17” winter rims (ASA JH3 17 X 7.5, 5-120 ET32mm w/225/45R17 Dunlop Winter Sport RFT)?: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...ghlight=winter I can personally attest that they will fit a 2006 E90 (3er sedan w/sport); 2008E92 (3er coupe w/sport); and my last 2009 E89 (Z435i w/sport). I’ve also seen this set up on E82s (1er). However, please verify whether they would fit for your application, b/c apparently BMW changed calipers on later E89s (not sure what MY) and they will not fit. PM me for further details. Thanks! Congrats on the car. I just found out about the crazy residuals few days ago and I've been tempted for a Z4 35is, but I think it's too late for me. Nearest one I've found that matched my specs is on the other side of the country.

Nice Color Choice!! Looks great, and CHEAPER than your 09' makes it a "No Brainer" ... You shouldn't need the lotion (in one of your pics) anymore...Just driving the IS should be enough to finish you off!! LOL

Alex,
Don't let distance stop you from getting that 35iS if it's one you want and is available. I just flew from Nashville to Miami last weekend and drove back 1150 miles in my new 35iS that I found there that matched my specs. It was a wonderful road trip in a new car with the top down and I have the car I was looking for not just settling for. Need to hurry because the 11 35is's are getting scarce tho. |

A big congrats on your car - I've waited a long time to get mine in the specs I want.... Your car looks beautiful with the red on silver, I bet it's a joy to drive - look forward to seeing more of your lovely machine!

My e85 was essentially that color combination. It's the second-best colors for a Z4...

Thanks everyone!
So far I'm loving this car. The difference from the 35i is surprisingly good

Great colors!!!!.........I just ordered a 2012 35is with the same color combo, to replace my 2009 DSB/Ivory 35i... (also great combo). Question, are the mirrors on the Titanium silver 35is the same as the body color?, or are they slightly different? (I cant tell from the photos)

The mirrors are the matte silver color, you just can't tell with Titanium ext. I believe the only "is" with the same ext. color paint mirrors is that yellow paint job
