what idrive shows with low tire pressure?

Reading the manual - said each tire will show independently when low - but all are showing yellow with only one low (rear at 26 psi).

What about you cars? What's it show? Just one low - or all 4?

Car is at the dealer now - they are stating there *may* be a mid year SW change that affects me and what it shows. Or, they could be blowing smoke up my ass and don't have a clue.

I did do a idrive SW upgrade a few weeks back, but I could swear when I bought it, I could see the individual tire pressures (something I would expect from BMW)

I don't have iDrive in my E89 but I have not seen the tire pressure in my '13 335, and loaner '13 528 and '14 X128 so I don't think individual tire pressures are available from the factory (just the green/yellow coloration)

Mine showed just the low tire. Did you every initialize your TPM? It never showed actual tire pressures on the iDrive, just green, yellow or red.

I only get the green indicators for correct tire pressure.
I have seen on the 3 series forum that the software can be coded ( programmed) to show individual tire pressure in numeric display. Does anyone know if this is a possible coding option for the E89 Z series?

But for all of you - is the yellow/red only showing for one of the tires or all 4 at the same time? I saw your response jparnes1 - and that's what I would expect to happen - and yes, TPM was initialized

The manual states only the low tire should change color, but all 4 of mine do at the same time.

So when the service guy calls and says nothing was found yesterday, I asked him the simple question. Have they flattened the tire after they reset the system and seen what was shown, so as to tell me what should be considered "normal".....He will have to get back to me - argh... Next call is they want to keep the car an extra day as it's hooked up to there computer and the lead programmer is looking into it.

This from the biggest BMW dealer in the US.

Yeah, it's just the one affected tire. It wouldn't make sense for all 4 to show a problem, then you wouldn't know which one was low.

So the final "conclusion" from BMW is that there was a mid year change in software and all of my tires will turn yellow when one is affected by low pressure ( what a crock of shit). Got some documentation that I have yet to go over, but how could BMW print a owners manual that's got wrong information?

argh......

That really sucks. How do you know which one is low? Ridiculous. I think they're either bullshitting you or BMW really screwed this one up.

Mine only shows the low tire as yellow, the others remain green. Red must indicate completely flat as I have not seen that. Not sure I believe the line about a software change. Can you take it to another dealer?

Fyi, I have a 2010 with idrive. I have had several flats so I do know how my car shows this quite well.

potentially dumb question, but did you actually measure the tires with a gauge to validate that all four tires are in fact not under inflated ?

Yep, as the dealer didn't bother to do that in their troubleshooting to begin with. I just hope I get a call for a survey....

Going to go out and try this again tomorrow, with my new Michelins

May have to push that button and make a call to BMW Connect to see what they say as well
